There is nothing better than dressing up for a good cause, and on Friday night, Saskatoon put on its finest for Choc à la Cure (choclacure.com), a gala evening put on by Dutch Growers in support of the Saskatoon Cancer Centre. The live and silent auctions, which included travel, art and spa packages, were accompanied by live jazz, delectable hors d’oeuvres and of course, mouth-watering chocolate desserts by the city’s finest chefs
Dutch Growers? (685 Reid Road, 249-1222, dutchgrowers.ca) Fashion? Yes! It is one of Saskatoon’s best kept secrets for fashion. The shop started as a garden centre, but now carries a wide range of clothing, jewellery, and handbags by Couture, Big Buddha, Elle, as well as local artisans, alongside the shrubs and trowels. So come down to this secret garden and see what fashion treasures await.

I love thunderstorms, rodeos and lying on the beach. I like learning new things, red and green Dino Sours and Broadway shows. I’ve been told I have a slight shopping problem. I disagree. I like Rider roadtrips, snowboarding, acting and a good night of dancing. I’m competitive at Monopoly. Greece has the best sunsets, Austria the best wine. I love New York City! It’s important to be nice. I think auctions are thrilling and backpacking Thailand should be mandatory. I can bake thirty-minute brownies in twenty minutes.
