Saskatoon: A wardrobe of shades
Sunglasses are like shoes--a single pair isn’t going to work with every outfit. You need a collection. For example, you could wear your aviators for driving, D&Gs for meeting the girls for lunch on the patio, Oakleys for an afternoon game of tennis, Ray-Bans for a day in the park. My all-time favorites are the aviators I’ve had forever, but when I do need new designer specs, I head to Midtown Plaza (1st Ave. S., midtownplaza.ca), which has a couple of stops I can count on.
For some fashionable favorites the Sunglass Hut (306-244-5676, sunglasshut.com) has a huge selection of designer eyewear including Vogue, DKNY, Burberry, Bvlgari, Dolce & Gabbana, Ed Hardy, Juicy Couture, and the ever so colorful Ray-Bans. Or head up the stairs and check out Spareparts (306-664-2238, sparepartslife.com) for names like VonZipper, Spy, Oakley, Electric and Anon.
Although a great pair of sunglasses can be the perfect accent to any outfit, they are more than just a fashion accessory. It is worth it to spend the extra money and get quality eyewear that is sure to protect your eyes and once you find the perfect pair, you won’t want to take them off.
I love thunderstorms, rodeos and lying on the beach. I like learning new things, red and green Dino Sours and Broadway shows. I’ve been told I have a slight shopping problem. I disagree. I like Rider roadtrips, snowboarding, acting and a good night of dancing. I’m competitive at Monopoly. Greece has the best sunsets, Austria the best wine. I love New York City! It’s important to be nice. I think auctions are thrilling and backpacking Thailand should be mandatory. I can bake thirty-minute brownies in twenty minutes.
