Ruth Negga Is 2017’s Style Star To Watch

We’re calling it: Ruth Negga is one to watch in 2017.

The 34-year-old Ethiopian-Irish actress, whose breakthrough role in Loving has earned her the Rising Star Award at the 2017 Palm Springs International Film Festival, as well as a nominations at the 2017 Golden Globes and 2017 BAFTAs, is being touted as "Hollywood’s Next Big Thing" — a long time coming, especially since she’s been in the industry for over 10 years.

And while her roles in 12 Years a Slave, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD and World War Z have allowed her to enjoy a life of relative anonymity, the release of Loving and AMC’s Preachers this year will change all of that.

Luckily, Negga (who — gasp! — doesn’t have Instagram) already has the red carpet style to match her impending It girl status, thanks to Canadian stylist Karla Welch who has put her in stunning frocks by Erdem, Valentino and Givenchy, to name a few. Oh, and Vogue and W magazine covers don’t hurt either.
