RIMOWA and Off-White Debut Luggage Collab at Paris Fashion Week
Luxury luggage brand, RIMOWA and hype beast-approved streetwear label, Off-White have been teasing a collab since September 2017. Today, the transparent cases we’ve been hearing about for months finally debuted on the runway at an Off-White menswear show in Paris. The clear polycarbonate cases are sure to be instantly recognizable despite a lack of in-your-face branding. (What will the hype beasts think about that?)
The price for one of these roll-alongs will be 850 euros (or around 1,310 Canadian dollars), so make sure you’re comfortable showing the world your personal items before you go out and splurge.
The limited-edition cases go on sale June 25th in Europe and July 2nd in Asia and the US. You can purchase the bags online or at select RIMOWA and Off-White stores.

This luxury luggage brand has already collaborated with many big names in the industry, including fan-faves like Supreme and Anti-Social Club, but Off-White’s design is bringing something brand new. Virgil Abloh, creator of Off-White and the newly appointed artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton, spoke to Business of Fashion about the product.
“It’s like 3.0 of personalization. It’s not just putting your initials on it, but allowing another layer to come in play,” he said. “There’s an emotional component to owning [the suitcase] and you become a performance art piece just by using the thing. It’s like putting your items on display and rethinking the premise of a product.”
We were obviously anticipating the reveal of this particular suitcase on the Off-White runway, but the fashion show also included another item. Described as an expansion of the original case, models walked the runway toting transparent backpacks. The backpacks are essentially mini-sized suitcases that are strapped to your shoulders. Although the pieces are not for sale, who knows what will happen in the future. See-through luggage… suitcase backpacks… anything is possible in the mind of Virgil Abloh.
