The pianist-chanteuse’s newest offering waltzes out today, just in time for cotton dress weather. Though the album’s called Far (Warner Bros. + Reprise Records), it’s no departure from Spektor’s sometimes cutesy, sometimes poignant eclecticism. Too whimsical to be melancholy—even her bluesy tracks are really more cerulean—it’s a perfect soundtrack for lazy sun days.
