Deidre Marinelli looks ahead to summer in Toronto and gives an inside look on this issue’s cover shoot with Australian actor Josh Heuston.
If you know me, you know that summer is my everything. The bright mornings and long, hot days feed my soul. I’m a Leo, which means it’s also my star season. And though I am always an advocate of moving forward, summer is when I wish I could stop the clock and linger longer in all of the delights the season delivers.
Slowing down and taking a break is exactly what we are focusing on in this issue of FASHION. Vacation mode this year has me continuing to lean into my wellness journey (biohacking is my current obsession), and I’ve booked a few holistic- and health-focused getaways: one in Miami and another locally, in Prince Edward County. I will also be taking the time to enjoy life at home in Toronto because summer in my city is such a vibe.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will soon be taking over cities across North America, including Toronto and Vancouver. What a massive moment for Canada on the world athletic stage. In this issue, we tap into our sporty side and give you the inside scoop on the most fashionable FIFA players, the hottest spots for watching the soccer and what to wear if you are heading to the stadium.
Also happening in this issue: The FASHION team share some of the season’s essential style trends. And in the realm of beauty, we’re all about what’s new in hair, with the coolest cuts, colours, products and styling tools and techniques to ensure that great hair happens on the daily—because, to quote a famous line from Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s iconic British series Fleabag, “hair is everything!”
Other highlights in this issue include the dream spots to hit for the perfect getaway to Greece. And continuing on the topic of travel, we rounded up the top resorts, spas and wellness destinations that can help guests become better (and younger) versions of themselves.
We also celebrate the rise of our cover star, Australian actor Josh Heuston. We shot the model and actor in Los Angeles and love his energy and empowered sense of style. Catch him starring in Prime’s hockey romance Off Campus, which I guarantee will be your favourite summer binge.
