Opposites attract. It’s an age-old adage we’ve heard hundreds of times, but in the realm of dressing well, it’s an idea worth being reminded of.
When it comes to curating an unexpected assemblage that simply works, no brand does it quite like Prada. The storied Milanese house has built a legacy on fine-tuned eccentricity with a little bit of wit, and this season, that singular vision takes form through high-impact pairings.
Held at the Fondazione Prada’s Deposito in Milan, the Prada Spring 2026 show took place on a glossy orange runway, serving as a bold foundation for the kaleidoscopic visuals to come. A brown bubble skirt was paired with a canary yellow jacket. A flowy crimson cardigan was tucked into lavender briefs. Ruched satin opera gloves were styled alongside a dusty pink coat. Where colour was concerned, more was certainly more.
There’s a freedom in this embrace of unrestrained palettes. As the brand put it in a statement, “Juxtaposition here becomes an act of creation.” This applies not only to colour-blocking, but also to experimental styling. Those aforementioned opera gloves? They’re paired with utilitarian separates. Pencil skirts are reimagined with suspenders. Glossy bags are adorned with buckles and storage-friendly cargo pockets. As a result, Prada takes its vision for the ever-refined dresser and makes it whimsical and wearable.
In FASHION‘s March 2026 issue, this stylistic synergy thrives in a metropolitan moodboard, from a city crosswalk to a concrete rooftop to an airy industrial space. The takeaway? Colour clashing makes for an instant wardrobe refresh as we head into spring.
