A New Pop-Up Series in Toronto Offers Indie Designs
Say hello to Rendez-Vous
Launched by the duo behind the Ottawa boutique Victoire, Rendez-Vous is a new pop-up event to be held in different Toronto neighbourhoods in the coming months. You’ll find the first stop at 1586 Dupont Street in the city’s Junction nabe (it’s open today until Sunday starting at 11am each day), and April’s dates run the 3rd to 5th at Souvenir (1232 College Street, Toronto).
The Rendez-Vous concept comes after Victoire closed the doors to its only Toronto shop in December. “We love our Toronto wing of the business and want to nourish it further while embracing the new realities of commerce in the city,” says Régine Paquette, who opened the first Victoire boutique with her long-time friend Katie Frappier in 2006.

January style – it just is what it is. Cozy tops and everything layered. Although practicality has to reign supreme at this time of year, we do have so many great options in the shop for those mornings when you wake up thinking UGH WHAT’S THE POINT upon hearing the windchill. Cos after all, those distinctly January feelings are kindof nice to spend some time wrapped up in, if you just surrender to them.
“We want to capitalize on the feedback we get from our lovely customers,” she says, highlighting how their next step in Toronto will be more focused on an intimate shopping experience in unique local areas; Paquette and Frappier have also canvassed existing customers about what pieces they’d like for their closets to make sure their pop-ups are hitting the spot when it comes to wardrobe needs. “Shopping at Victoire means knowing they’ll be in a fun and friendly atmosphere with a curated aesthetic, a commitment to customer support, and a wide range of price points. All things we pride ourselves on.”
Staying true to the ethos of supporting Canadian made and designed goods, Rendez-Vous will offer many of the names Victoire customers know and love including Eliza Faulkner, Birds of North America, Fform, Harly Jae, and Eve Gravel. You can also stock up on accessories from brands like Quebec’s Anne-Sophie Vallée and Portland’s Tiro Tiro.
Judging by its eclectic offerings, the spirit of Rendez-Vous it set to live up to the thrill-of-the-find vibe Paquette and Frappier began cultivating over a decade ago. Describing the Rendez-Vous mood, Paquette says, “It’s part personal shopping experience, part pop-up, part hang-out fun times, and all about playing with fashion!” Who could ask for anything more?
