After last season’s pleasantly all over the place runways, I was convinced a trendless fashion scene could be the way of the future. But with Paris Fashion Week coming to a close, the Spring 2016 look has crystallized---very specifically, in fact. For the first time in a while, the season’s hottest trends all intersect quite fluidly. What’s the key message? It’s time for bed! Nightgowns and negligees, complete with feminine trims like ruffles, bows and transparent layers were seen just about everywhere. Here, we break the look down into its various parts:

Nighties The boudoir dress has been going strong since 2013, but this season’s take is fairly sexless (save for Saint Laurent’s sexy version). It’s light, airy and innocent, like something a Victorian child would wear for bedtime. At Dior and Alexander McQueen, the look was floor-length, pastel and transparent. At Vetements, it was purposefully awkward in fit. Wendy from Peter Pan is Spring’s style icon.
