5 Things We Love about the Oshawa Centre

When shopping is what you do for a living you get to know every mall like the back of your hand. You know shortcuts, washrooms, parking lots, change rooms and food courts like they’re part of your home. You can sniff out new stores and learn the days new merchandise drops. A window display doesn’t change without you taking note.

Last week we took off in a helicopter to check out Oshawa Centre’s multi million dollar renovation. The mall is sure to be a weekend staple once the new wing officially opens on September 29th. Overhauled from its strip mall past, the new shopping centre is modern, well-designed and has everything you need to indulge in a spending spree. It’s definitely worth the trip from Toronto (no helicopter required).

Here are the 5 things love most about at the newly renovated Oshawa Centre.

Going Green
Oshawa Centre had made it their mission to champion green initiatives. A 153 meter wide living wall spruces up the parking area, rooftop solar panels generate energy to cool the building and electric car charging ports have be added for eco-conscious drivers.

Mom Space
The newly renovated bathrooms include a nursing room for moms on the go. Decorated with fun murals and equipped with recliners and a private washroom, this space will sooth any mid-shop meltdowns.

Fashion Favourites
Some our favourite stores are getting a facelift too. Forever21 and H&M are opening new locations, and a massive Zara is coming in 2017.

Live Feed
Artist Joaquin Manay from the Robert McLaughlin Gallery will paint a live mural in the halls of the centre on September 30th.

Total Reboot
