Oscars 2016: 24 of the best dressed stars on the red carpet
Well, after all that talk about how boring the red carpet has become, the Oscars 2016 listened. And hey, they were anything but.
If the super-babe is yet to be an official trend, let’s switch that up right now. Perma-babe Charlize Theron presided over the crowd in a deep (deep) V-necked Dior gown, simply radiating sex appeal. Insta-babe Saoirse Ronan shattered her previous appearance on the Oscars red carpet as a 13-year-old nominee, in a backless and body-hugging sequin Calvin Klein gown. (Interestingly, the colour, a deep emerald, was chosen as a shout-out to the actress’s native of Ireland.) Meanwhile, Disney-babe Alicia Vikander channeled an 18th century Belle (yes, the Beauty and the Beast heroine) in a custom pale yellow Louis Vuitton gown and topknot.
Fashion babes were plentiful, with Cate Blanchett performing a proverbial mic drop in a floral Armani Privé gown, Lady Gaga switching it up in a Brandon Maxwell pantsuit and Rooney Mara repping Givenchy in a haute couture lace gown.
If you’re looking for IRL trends, there will be plenty of that coming tomorrow, don’t you worry! Meanwhile, feast your eyes on the many super babes of the Oscars 2016 red carpet.
