40 Stellar Photos From Operanation 2018: Into the Stars

Living statues, divine deities, and flowing fountains (of cocktails) - this Roman-themed mega-bash of fashion, art and opera was definitely blessed by Bacchus.

In honour of the upcoming world premiere of Rufus Wainwright’s Hadrian (on the Canadian Opera Company stage in October), the COC dedicated the theme of this year’s #Operanation to the gods of ancient Rome.

The 14th annual Operanation transformed the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts into a coliseum of wonder. The atrium filled with song and dance as the Brave Shores performed with the COC’s Ensemble Studio artists. Meanwhile, living statues weaved through Ionic columns and free-flowing fountains of Negroni Spritz. At every turn, guests wined and dined like gods and goddesses while immortalizing their fashion moments over a shining backdrop of stars in PartyPix’s photo booth.

The most spectacular sights of the evening – of course – were the chic tastemakers attending the fete. From fresh laurels and golden crowns to silky togas and glittering gowns, the outfits were so dazzling that even the fashion gods were jealous.
