New York: Alexander Wang’s deconstructed banker

Alexander Wang was definitely the hot ticket yesterday, and he did not disappoint with his very grown-up take on Fall 2010. Grey wool morning jackets, charcoal pinstripe mini-dresses with lace detail, long sleeved cropped sweaters with neck cuffs, velvet apron dresses and one scene-stealing black leather zip away trench coat. The colour du jour?  Black, but with dabs of mustard and emerald thrown into the mix. We can’t forget to mention the accessories--wool backpacks with long trailing ribbons, velvet sunglasses from his collaboration with Linda Farrow and black leather bandage boots--as they perfectly compliment Wang’s tough yet polished world.
