Mytheresa.com and Prada Release a Fiery Collaboration

When it comes to brands like Acne, Miu Miu and even Yeezy, Mytheresa.com has become a go-to site for shopping luxury labels. Today, the Munich-based retailer is partnering with Prada on an exclusive capsule collection. The collaboration, which references retro-Prada collections (specifically Spring 2012), will feature Hot Wheels-style flame details and busy banana prints. Although the 20-piece reboot draws inspiration from the past, each piece has been reworked in a way that makes the clothes feel fresh and modern, think edgy oversized hoodies or a cherry red bucket hat.

These popular 90s-era street pieces, are in turn, balanced against more classic items like a very wearable black figure-hugging skirt and two fitted sweaters. Still, the ones we find most exciting are the pieces dipped in flames or covered in neon stripes. Along with these fiery hot looks are two pairs of shoes–patent leather sandals and chunky boots–plus two sets of sunglasses.

“Our global customer loves to experiment with prints and bright colors, so we wanted to offer them something completely edgy,” said Tiffany Hsu, fashion and buying director at Mytheresa.com to WWD.

Along with the new capsule collection, Mytheresa.com has also released a short film with R&B music artist Abra. In it, the artist dances around in the collection’s flame-fringed hot pink and white sandals. The video, which features her song, “Fruit,” follows Abra around a neon-lit warehouse as she shows off various pieces from the line.
