More shopping news: Yorkdale scores again as J.Crew chooses the mall for its first Canadian location

J.Crew Fall 2011

Attention Yorkdale shoppers: You are the luckiest ducks in Toronto. As if Holt Renfrew’s expansion and Topshop’s entrance at the Bay weren’t enough, It brand J.Crew has chosen the mall as its first Canadian and international location. According to president, creative director and overall girl-crush Jenna Lyons, the company is now finalizing the store’s design, carefully creating the perfect setting to house its collections.

Shoppers can look forward to a 5,000-square-foot shop that stocks women’s clothing and accessories, featuring everyday classics, the Weekend collection, as well as limited-edition pieces from the Collection label. J.Crew’s take on high-end, preppy classics has garnered a base of diehard fans over the years, including ultra-fashionable First Lady, Michelle Obama (and the many who follow her every move). We’ll see how the American sportswear brand fares against its new competition come August, when the Yorkdale store opens its doors. We can scarcely imagine anything but sheer gangbusters.
