How to Actually Style Basics, According to the Streets of Milan
A crash course in styling, courtesy of Men’s Fashion Week in Milan.
We have great expectations when it comes to Milan street style, and honestly, can you blame us? Italy is home to some of the world’s most iconic designers and fashion houses—Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Fendi, Ferragamo, Prada and the late, great Armani and Valentino—and when faced with a resumé that prolific, one would expect the locals to carry some of that sartorial spirit with them.
The attendees of Men’s Fashion Week in Milan this week did not disappoint.
While coordinated sets and suits remain staples, the Fall 2026 season strung along a handful of very exciting wild cards. Bright knit sweaters, strewn haphazardly across the shoulders, styled as a palate-cleanser an otherwise tonal ensemble. Softer takes on the leather jacket—collarless and blazer-like—made more casual with a soft T-shirt. And who could forget a pair of black leather gloves to round out the look?
