Milan Fashion Week: Gucci Fall 2013 proves that long sleeves can be sexy

5 sexy long-sleeved looks from Gucci Fall 2013 »

It is the first show of Milan Fashion Week and already designer Frida Giannini has taught us an important lesson: Long sleeves can be sexy. The Fall 2013 Gucci collection featured a berry coatdress with plunging neckline, a black jumpsuit with allover lace top (save for two suspender-like strips) and a leather suit with a boat neckline that seemed to be begging for a passionate kiss right on the jugular. Some of the looks were corporate in tone but with a suggestive wink---like a wool skirt suit with a black leather turtleneck---but still the sort of twist that would make it impossible for anyone in the office to focus on work. The other leitmotif of this collection was leafy feathers or feathery leaves, depending how you looked at them. They were embroidered down arms and mixed with real plumes in wild flourishes on satin cocktail wear and gowns. A very pregnant Giannini was cloaked in black as she took her bow. A better candidate for all those peekaboo fronts was the busty Salma Hayek, sitting in the front row.
