Milan: Day five

Shown: DSquared Fall 2008. Photography by Peter Stigter.

Finito! The week has flown by and there’s lots of goodies to digest! Today’s heavyweight shows further proved that fall will be a variety show of hits–great news, because it means tons of choice.

First up: DSquared, where our homegrown twins put the tart back in tartan; next, Max Mara returned to the great coats and sportswear they do best, and Pucci went alpine–don’t miss the giant icicles on clutch bags and necklaces! See photos from the Pucci show.

Dolce & Gabbana wowed with a stunning, covered-up collection that took me right back to my junior high-school wardrobe–all argyles, tweeds, dirndls, scarf prints and chocolate-y patchwork bags–delish!

Fendi girls romped through the forest in a geometric collection of capelets and lush leather and fur (a painted gold fox was a standout) and Versace‘s strong and gutsy collection was dreamy…or was I a wee bit distracted by McDreamy himself sitting just to my right!

See photos from the Fendi show.

See photos from the Versace show. Tomorrow I’ll hit both Marni and Dolce & Gabbana headquarters to run my hands over the fabrics, and drool over the stunning colour combos and accessories.

Arrivederci, ciao for now…I’m passing the torch to you, Casselman.

Have a blast in Paris!!
