This year’s Met Costume Institute exhibition, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & the Catholic Imagination,” is considered to be one of the Met Gala’s most controversial themes in recent years due to its use of sacred religious artifacts and questions about whether using Catholic imagery outside of a religious context is considered cultural appropriation. However, it wouldn’t be the biggest event on the fashion calendar if boundaries weren’t being challenged. Here’s everything to look out for on tonight’s red carpet.

Oceans 8 Cast Reunion

Not only is Rihanna one of this evening’s co-hosts, she’s also starring in the upcoming summer blockbuster Oceans 8, in which the plot revolves around a jewelry heist at the Met Gala. It’s expected that the all-star cast, which includes Sandra Bullock and Anne Hathaway, will make an appearance together at tonight’s actual event as a group.

 Zayn & Gigi

Are they or aren’t they? After announcing their shocking split in March, these two lovebirds were recently spotted kissing in NYC, sparking rumours of a reconciliation. They famously made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 2016 Met Gala and fans are buzzing about whether or not they’ll reintroduce their romance officially tonight.

Kanye West’s Prodigal Return?

Kanye’s been in the press a lot lately, specifically for his support of  Trump and an interview where he stated slavery was a choice. However, critics have been questioning if his controversial opinions are tactics for self promotion. Kanye hasn’t attended the Met Gala since 2016, leaving many to wonder if he might make an appearance tonight, especially since his new album is dropping on June 8th.

Kylie Jenner’s First Red Carpet as a Mom

Kylie’s kept an extremely low profile over the past year, surprising everyone by announcing both her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter, Stormi, at the same time. Although she’s made her return to social media, Kylie hasn’t appeared on any red carpets in 2018. However, she’s hinted that she’ll be in attendance tonight with Travis Scott, marking her first appearance as a mom.
