Met Gala 2018: Our Top Picks for the Most Exciting and Outrageous Looks on the Red Carpet

The annual Met Gala red carpet has been the site of some of the most delightfully OTT outfits ever worn. It’s where a very pregnant Kim Kardashian debuted her Leigh Bowery-eque floral look in 2013, it’s where Sarah Jessica Parker wore a tulle dress topped with a tartan sheath to match her date, a kilt-wearing Alexander McQueen, in 2006, and it’s where Rihanna has consistently killed it at the red carpet every. single. year. (Remember her spherical clustered Comme des Garcons cape from 2017 that made her look like a walking Yayoi Kusama exhibition?)

This year’s theme, “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” brought out the best in the evening’s attendees, who channeled the theme with grace and aplomb through plenty of halo headpieces, stoic capes, and holier-than-thou crimson red. So without further ado, here is our list of the best-dressed celebs on the 2018 Met Gala red carpet, also known as the East Coast Oscars.
