The Must-Have Men’s Spring Fashion Trends of 2025
Three experts weigh in on men’s spring fashion trends, including pastels, sheer trenches, crop tops and more.
In the FASHION offices, time has a funny meaning. Sometimes our editors are sussing out the specific mules that Bella Hadid wore at 11:32am on a Friday morning. Other times we’re fixating on the following five days, eagerly anticipating the aftermath of the next batch of Love Is Blind episodes. And then there are the times where we’re in entirely different months, nay, seasons, researching sandals and sunblocks as we dust off our holiday decorations. This is one of those occasions.
Since June, we have been obsessing over the Spring 2025 menswear shows. The sheer trenches at Dries Van Noten. The short shorts at Gucci. The Fendi soccer jerseys, or should we say football, since it’s an Italian brand? But the question, as it is every season, is what will actually make it off the runways and onto the streets?
To uncover the answer, the FASHION team polished off our crystal balls — or rather, opened up our contact list — to find our favourite menswear experts. And boy, they didn’t disappoint.
Below, we asked Senior Creative & Fashion Director of FASHION & Events, George Antonopoulos, the Fashion Director of Holt Renfrew, Joseph Tang, and content creator and stylist, Christian Thompson on their must-have Spring 2025 fashion trends and their tips on how to wear them.
Sheer Delight

The trend: Sheer shirts, jackets, pants (yes, really!), and any other piece of apparel you can think of The designers: Louis Vuitton Men’s, Rick Owens, Denzi Patrick, Dries van Noten How to style it: “Let your sheer piece be the focal point of your look and use other things to support it. I love a flowy sheer top moment, it always makes a statement, catches the eye and is a great fabric choice for the summer months.” — Christian Thompson
All In A Day’s Work

The trend: Consider it handyman chic — chore coats, cargo pants and lot’s of pockets The designers: Dior Men, Hermès, Ami, Sacai, Giorgio Armani How to style it: “Today, workwear is all about layering key pieces that can be styled seamlessly for out of office meetings and events. A shirt jacket is a more casual option in lieu of a more classic sports coat. Layer this with a clean button-up or a fine-gauge knit to keep the overall look clean and sophisticated.” — Joseph Tang
Keep It Brief

The trend: Eyes up here — or should we say, down there, as men’s thighs become the centre of attention The designers: Gucci, LGN Louis Gabriel Nouchi, Fendi, Hermes, Juun.J, Bianca Saunders, Zegna How to style it: “We have been seeing short shorts for a while now but the coolest way to wear them is with boxier tops (like an oversized tee or button-down) to balance the itty-bitty length. Style the shorts with a loafer and sock for a more classic look. Or, if you’re feeling sporty, opt for a statement sneaker and monochrome sock.” — George Antonopoulos
Yay, Sports

The trend: High school jocks have grown up and got the high fashion treatment — ESPN subscription not included The designers: Miu Miu, Fendi, Louis Vuitton Men’s, 3.Paradis, Moschino How to style it: “Mix this style with your wardrobe essentials. A sporty windbreaker under a jacket can quickly blend sport and tailoring together. I love the mix of an athletic hoodie with a shirt and tie! A track pant is also elevated with a tailored denim jacket and a clean polo.” — Joseph Tang

The trend: Vanilla, strawberry, blueberry, banana; these aren’t just gelato flavours, they’re the “it’ colours of the spring The designers: Ami, Amiri, Bianca Saunders, Comme Des Garçons Hommes Plus, Loewe, JW Anderson How to style it: “What makes this trend new is mixing and sometimes clashing pastels. But if that’s too daring, then choosing one sorbet colour head to toe and balancing it with a neutral loafer, sandal or white sneaker is the way to go.” — George Antonopoulos
