Toronto’s Got a Brand New Social House — and You’re Going to Want a Membership

Toronto’s got a brand new members-only social house and take it from us: you’re going to want a membership.

Created by Dan Gunam and Sacha ElWakeel (the duo behind our fave good vibes poke and acai bowl spot in the city, Calii Love), Love Child Social House serves as a co-working space, coffee/pastry/drinks bar and all-around cool hangout spot for Toronto entrepreneurs and creative types.

Located at King and Bathurst (69 Bathurst St.), the Lisa Ho Studio-designed space is exactly what we’d expect from Gunam and ElWakeel’s Love Group Inc.: aesthetically-pleasing and full of good vibes. Inside, you’ll find vintage furniture, murals and art by James Goldcrow and Sarah Skrlj and love-themed motifs throughout, like the bright “LOVE MADE ME DO IT” neon sign at the entrance or the wooden “LOVE” sign at the rear of the space.

There are plenty of tables to work at, along with a coffee lab by Barocco Coffee Company and a sandwich and pastry bar from Oretta and Aida’s Pine Valley Bakery. There’s also kombucha on tap, ELXR Juice Lab juices for sale and, of course, a fully-licensed bar.

Additionally, the venue will hold special events for members, such as workshops on latte art, discussions with the city’s top entrepreneurs and music showcases, to name a few. The space is also available for select private bookings and brand activations.

The best part? Memberships, unlike other social houses, are actually affordable. A monthly membership will set you back $75, while six days a month costs $45. As for the daily rate? It’s $15, which is quite the bargain, if you ask us.

Love Child Social House is currently open Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and is open to non-members from 7 p.m. onwards.
