The Street Style at London Fashion Week Is Giving *British* Mob Wife

Think less Martin Scorsese and more Guy Ritchie.

We’ve all heard of the mob wife aesthetic, but these London street style Fall 2024 looks are giving British mob wife.

In case you’ve been on an Internet cleanse/living in the Witness Protection Program, the mob wife aesthetic can be characterized by Edie Falco’s Carmela Soprano: Giant fur coats are a must; animal print is considered a neutral and the higher the heels, the better.

In contrast, the British mob wife is more refined than rugged. These mobsters are professionals first, murderers second. Just because their work is messy doesn’t mean they need to be. Picture if Guy Ritchie did The Sopranos: Luxurious furs are accessorized with mod Mary Janes; white button-ups and ties are paired with leopard print and jewellery is kept to a minimum.

If Peaky Blinders isn’t quite your fashion forte, plaid and tartan are always mainstays at London Fashion Week. The cool weather also didn’t stop many street style stars from sporting short shorts and mini skirts. And of course, oversized blazers continue to be the outerwear of choice.
