A Very Pregnant Kirsten Dunst Stars in Rodarte’s Pre-Fall 2018 Lookbook

Rodarte, the dreamy label designed by sister act Kate and Laura Mulleavy, released their Fall 2018 lookbook Tuesday morning in a surprise drop worthy of a Beyoncé album.
The lookbook, shot by perennial Rodarte collaborator Autumn De Wilde, features some of the label’s long-time friends, including a very pregnant Kirsten Dunst, who previously starred in the Mulleavy sisters’ first feature film, Woodshock.
Rodarte has always felt a little bit like a secret word-of-mouth brand; totally independent and with the clarity of vision of two designers who choose to live and work in their hometown of Pasadena, California rather than an acknowledged fashion capital. Now, the people sitting in the front row of Rodarte’s presentations have become the models.
In addition to Kirsten Dunst, the lookbook features luminary women such as Sonic Youth guitarist Kim Gordon, folk-pop harpist Joanna Newsom, Sofia Coppola’s little sister Gia, author Miranda July, musician (and Canadian!) Grimes, actress Rowan Blanchard, Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Philippe’s daughter Ava Philippe, and newly-minted star of Black Panther, Danai Gurira.
Not only is the collection itself visually stunning, it’s refreshing to see the clothes modeled by women who are just as intriguing as the clothes themselves.
