FASHION x Atelier Test Drive x Mercedes-Benz
Mercedes-Benz’s The Art of Arrival campaign may be a nod to The Devil Wears Prada 2, but the transformative power of the S-Class rear seat is anything but fictional. It’s the place where Deidre Marinelli, FASHION Magazine’s publisher, and George Antonopoulos, senior creative and fashion director, can slow down and find quiet moments of composure and reflection, before stepping into an important room or entering a space where their presence will be noted.
In between meetings, on the way to a fashion shoot or en route to a buzzy cocktail party, there’s no better place for the duo to tap into the psychological shift between departure and arrival than the rear seat of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. As Marinelli notes, “Some of the most important moments happen between destinations—in the quiet luxury of the S-Class backseat, where comfort, craftsmanship and thoughtful amenities create a true sanctuary on the move.”
Many luxurious elements come together to make the sanctuary possible: from elevated leather finishes to the feeling of being isolated from outside noise while being bathed in ambient lighting.
With the touch of a button, the environment can shift to suit any need—thanks to extensive optional upgrades such as the cabin’s MBUX rear-seat controls that allow the seat to recline without disruption. There’s even an option to enable the hot-stone massage feature for the ultimate stress-release ritual before a high-pressure moment. Heating and ventilation options mean the perfect level of comfort, and the purified air can even be subtly infused with a luxurious fragrance. For a bit of (welcome) distraction, the two 13.1-inch rear screens are there to provide entertainment.

“From taking calls and reviewing creative to simply resetting between meetings, the spacious interior and elevated experience allow us to arrive calm, focused, and ready for whatever is next,” says Marinelli.
There is also something unmistakably powerful about being driven rather than being behind the wheel. For Marinelli and Antonopoulos, there’s a distinct mental shift that happens when they move from drivers to passengers. The S-Class does not simply transport them to their destination; it helps them arrive as the version they want to be when they get there.
Finally, the door opens and they step out, first onto the curb, then into a space that awaits them. Nerves calmed and game-faces on.
In this way, the S-Class rear cabin is the new executive lounge and a true modern power seat. Learn more.
