Challenge #175: How do you style warm winter boots?

Liat Neuman, 39
Toronto | YomanChic

During the coldest months of the year, I have no choice but to opt for functionality over fashion. Walking through slush and snow with high heels is simply mission impossible.  Finding a balance between style and comfort is necessary and these boots are a fun alternative to a sturdy hiking boot. I’m pairing the somewhat masculine boot with more feminine pieces like a sweater dress and checked coat. The unexpected combination creates a fresh look for winter.

Liat is wearing: Boots, Zara; Dress and Coat, Club Monaco; Choker, Topaz Jewelry; Clutch, Michael Kors.

Winter is in full swing and in Edmonton, that means extreme cold. I like to pair a casual hiking boot with standout outerwear. This wool cape is both warm and stylish elevating my casual look instantly.

Kira is wearing: Cape, and Shirt, J.Crew; Pants, J.Crew Collection; Boots, Cougar; Hat, Asos.

These boots are a winter staple. They are extremely comfortable, especially because of the soft plush fabric on the inside. They also have major treads for times when you need extra stability climbing though mountains of snow and slush. These boots pair well with my relaxed and casual look and have me ready to take on any winter weather.

Krystin is  wearing: Scarf, Aritzia; Jeans, Garage; Sunglasses, Ray-Ban; Jacket, Sheinside; Boots, Sorel.
