Hayley Elsaesser Debuts My Little Pony-Themed Collection at NYFW

The fashion world has been having a love affair with the ’90s for the past little while, and it looks like it’s far from over.

Case in point? Canadian designer Hayley Elsaesser’s fall/winter 2017 collection.

The Toronto-based designer made her New York Fashion Week debut Wednesday, showcasing a My Little Pony-themed line, created in partnership with Hasbro. Presented at Milk Studios, the “Deja Moon” collection featured the FASHION Magazine Award-winner’s signature bold colours and prints, with equally playful hair and makeup to match.

Standout pieces from the collection include an oversized moto-style jacket with MLP printed throughout, and a sparkly hot pink shift dress with a giant blue pony on the front.

And while we swore we’d ditch the chokers for 2017, we’ll make an exception for Hayley’s galaxy-inspired versions.

Aside from the playful, yet still adult-friendly designs, what we appreciated most was Hayley’s commitment to using a diverse cast of models, which proved, once again, that fashion is for everyone.

Making Canada proud, Hayley!
