This morning, Russian designer Gosha Rubichinskiy announced on Instagram, “We will stop Gosha Rubichinskiy brand as you’ve known it. We will have no more seasonal collections. Instead, something new is coming.”

Mysterious! However, an interview with the designer published yesterday on sneaker website Hypebeast appears to shed some light on the situation. Rubichinskiy expresses exhaustion with his current collection – “I’m a bit tired of doing season to season collections,” he says – and states future plans to open up a skate shop in Moscow called Oktyabr, after the Russian National sports teams. According to Rubichinskiy, it will be “Russia’s first real cool skate shop” and, “Boys can come and buy decks and it will be fun.”
Beyond opening a skate shop, it appears Rubichinskiy’s plan is to continue growing his skate-and-youth culture-focused line, PACBETT, which has already collaborated with Burberry and work wear brand Carhartt.
We will update this post when more information becomes available.
