Toronto’s Most Fashionable Faces Fêted FASHION’s The Ones Party

‘FASHION’ kicked off festival season and celebrated our September 2024 issue in modern glamorous style with a guest list that included Canadian media trailblazers Glamzilla, Brooke Lynn Hytes and Ashley Callingbull, along with Toronto’s most fashionable faces.

The dress code was “modern glam” and guests understood the assignment when flocking to FASHION’s The Ones 2024 celebration.

The annual soiree co-hosted by FASHION publisher Deidre Marinelli and senior creative and fashion director George Antonopoulos honours our September issue and marks the start of festival season. To fête the September 2024 cover stars, a trio of modern media powerhouses including Ashley Callingbull, Stephanie “Glamzilla” Valentine and Brock “Brooke Lynn Hytes” Hayhoe, who arrived in style via Uber Black. FASHION invited Canada’s most stylish to the Lillian Massey building in Toronto’s Mink Mile on September 7 for an evening of style, beauty and merriment.

The Ones 2024 united more than 500 of Canada’s most influential — and chic! — fashion, business, arts and entertainment industry guests, from singer Fefe Dobson and celebrity stylist Brad Goreski to content creator Gigi Gorgeous and media icon Joe Zee. The evening included immersive brand activations, bubbly, cocktails, canapés — and a downstairs dance party led by DJ Kiki LeFreak that no one wanted to end.

After walking the black carpet and grabbing a welcome glass of La Marca Prosecco, guests could stop into the Atelier Mario Fugnitto to gaze upon the Canadian fashion designer’s avant-garde creations before indulging in a bit of beauty pampering in the NARS Lipstick Room for lipstick touch-ups and photo opps thanks to The Ones 2024’s fabulous presenting sponsor, NARS. From there, it was onto the Narciso Rodriguez fragrance room, a sensorial experience where guests were invited to sample fragrances, before a stop into NARS’ Dirty Talk Telephone booth photo station for yet another stunning outfit pic opportunity.

Across the way, partygoers tantalized their beauty senses at the Shiseido makeup station where they could try the new Shiseido x Hunter Schafer collection before snapping a pic in the stylized selfie mirror. Opportunities for outfit pics were never in short supply, with the Shiseido and Don Julio Tequila photo booths offering guests even more strike-a-pose moments.

All that posing make you hungry? Guests were invited to indulge in the bite-sized spicy tuna, truffle mushroom galette or PB & J foie gras by Elle Cuisine being offered throughout while staying cool thanks to Shark Ninja fans disbursed throughout the rooms.

Bevies flowed throughout The Ones’ stunning venue including cocktails from the World Class Canada Bar, wine from Our Story, ice-cold FLOW water and refreshing Ocean Spray sparkling drinks. All through the historic building, luxe contemporary floral arrangements from May Flowers added an elegant finishing touch to the evening’s elevated vibe.

Finally, partygoers could make their way down to the lower level dance party where DJ Kiki LeFreak cranked out bops to a dance floor bathed in blue light. This is where Canada’s chicest shimmied — taking refreshment breaks at the “Ocean Spray Sparkling with the Stars” lounge, of course — in their modern glam looks that included sheer skirts, sequinned gowns, daring cut-outs, cropped blazers and power suits.

Unsurprisingly, the competition was intense, but best-dressed of the evening would have to be a three-way tie between Canadian trailblazers Ashley Callingbull in Narces, Stephanie “Glamzilla” Valentine in Hilary MacMillan and Brock “Brooke Lynn Hytes” Hayhoe in Thomas Ogden, a.k.a. Art de Fashion, all of whom were styled by the evening’s co-host George Antonopoulos.
