Fashion news: Tom Ford launches lipstick and plunders design houses, Ungaro not for sale and light-up Choos sell out
It’s no secret that Tom Ford is making a foray into womenswear, but he’s remained mum on the details of his design team. Word is that the designer has nabbed Caroline Tixier from Givenchy and accessories designer Pablo Coppola from Alexander McQueen. [The Cut]
But before we can see his Fall 2010 women’s collection, Ford is expanding his Private Blend collection to include lipstick. Available in June, the line includes 12 “universally flattering colors,” because as Ford says, there is “no more dramatic accessory than a perfect lip.” We’re hard pressed to disagree. Rodarte‘s Kate and Laura Mulleavy may be heading up design at French fur house Revillon. Reps deny the rumours but sources say we could see a collection from them during Couture Week in July. [The Cut]

The whisperings of Victoria Beckham copying British designer’s Osman Yousefzada is leaving young designer completely flattered. Yousefzada showed a wrapped column dress with an internal corset in his Fall 2010 collection, and when Posh Spice showed a similar dress in NY in February, the fashion police became suspicious. However Yousefzada takes it in stride, saying, “It is very flattering to think she may have tried my dress and been inspired to create something similar, since it means she must have liked the way the dress was cut and the way it felt to wear.” [Vogue UK]
