Stella McCartney and PETA are pitching UK’s minister for defense equipment to create vegan hats for the Queen’s guards to replace the bearskin toppers, which have been used since 1815. Another one strong for the celebrity-fragrance bandwagon: Katy Perry will launch her perfume Purr in November. Scent wise, it gives off hints of peach nectar, jasmine, freesia and apple, but that all seems quite normal for Katy. We’re more curious about the bottle, maybe it will glow in the dark? [WWD]
Kelly Cutrone remarked recently that she doesn’t want her as yet unpublished second book to be in the self-help aisle like her first. “The kids that are buying my book were like ‘what are we doing in the self-help section-we are 21 years-old,’" says Cutrone.
