Rodarte and M.A.C Cosmetics have sparked quite the controversy with their recent makeup collaboration, where a nail lacquer shade was named after Juárez, a Mexican town that happens to be notorious for its high rape and murder rates. The Rodarte designers have already apologized, “We never intended to make light of this serious issue and we are truly sorry,” and M.A.C sent an email to editors saying they will be changing the name of the shade. Just because he designs for some of the world’s biggest luxury hounds, doesn’t mean Marc Jacobs doesn’t have time for the other side of the spectrum: “OK, recently I watched every episode of Jersey Shore‘s first season. Retail Therapy, brought to you by PopSugar, is the latest Facebook app time-vacuum, where players create their very own fashion boutiques. Players purchase virtual merchandise from real retailers - Banana Republic, Juicy Couture, Lanvin and Christian Louboutin to name a few- and buy and sell until their little store becomes a giant store. Perfect for fashion-forward web worms who don’t feel like raising a virtual farm. [Racked]

Despite that Abercrombie & Fitch is primarily a fashion retailer, the latest A&F quarterly featured very little clothes. Nudity by the numbers: 16 counts of (nearly) full frontal nudity for the boys and 8 for the girls, and 15 counts of bare bottomed boys and 6 girls. With no shortage of threesomes, girl on girl make outs and barely clad boys wrestling, this is like the SoCal equivalent of an American Apparel ad. [Huffington Post]
