Fashion news: Luella folds, Madonna fronts for Dolce and Sart goes rodeo

Brit designer Luella Bartley’s eponymous line has ceased operations after investors Club 21 backed out. The brand’s main manufacturer also closed last month, so the Spring 2010 line will not be produced. [WWD]

The Chambre Syndicale, which organizes the Paris shows, named the houses of Vanessa Bruno, Rochas and RM by Roland Mouret as a few of its new members. [WWD]

After two seasons as the face of Louis Vuitton, Madonna has jumped ship to star in Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring 2010 adverts. [Swide]

Thakoon Panichgul is thinking of expanding into menswear by next year. “I think it would be so fun. I always have guys asking me when I’m going to start,” the designer told WWD. Panichgul has teamed up with Aloha Rag’s new private label to try his hand at designing menswear for the first time with a cardigan that will be sold exclusively at the New York store. [WWD]

The cowboy trend has lassoed Scott Schuman’s heart. Despite his public distaste for the current popularity of the wild west in the fashion world, and even telling us that he would never be seen wearing cowboy boots, Schuman was enlightened after a recent trip to Vegas. "[One of the bull-riders] was wearing typical boots, but he had wrapped the ankles with a leather strap so they would stay on while he was riding the bull. Everywhere I looked I saw such cool cowboy style,” he wrote on his blog. [The Cut]
