A new book celebrating the life’s work of designer Pierre Cardin will be released in junction with the fashion house’s 60th anniversary. “Pierre Cardin: Fashion’s Architect,” written by longtime Cardin communications director Jean-Pascal Hesse, explores the designer’s architectural approach to haute couture and the fashion industry. In addition to his noble fashion career, Cardin has also dabbled in industrial and interior design over the years. [WWD]

Cynthia Rowley is collaborating with Roxy to design stylish surf gear for all you Gidget-wannabes. Rowley, an avid surfer, saw a need for more stylish statements on the waves, so she took it upon herself to team up with every surfer girl’s go-to label. The collection will launch in March 2010, to be sold at Barneys, Colette, Roxy and Cynthia Rowley boutiques worldwide. [Racked]
