Rumour has it that Giles Deacon may take over as the revolving-door role of creative director for Emanuel Ungaro. Deacon was spotted with Ungaro owner Asim Abdullah last Friday in Paris, and in the world of fashion gossip that obviously means they’re working together. [Vogue UK]

Catherine McNeil‘s girlfriend, Aussie MTV host Ruby Rose, apparently confirmed their engagement to Women’s Day and they were both in L.A. recently sporting engagement rings. Rose later said on Twitter “I have never in my life spoken to womans day, i have never even met anyone from that magazine?” [The Cut, Herald Sun]

TheOutnet has responded to Friday’s $1 crash and burn sale, saying, “…we are very sorry to all those who didn’t get to buy anything at the sale, but delighted for the thousands of lucky ones amongst you that did walk away with a £1/$1 bargain from theOutnet. With each event we are working hard to fix issues that arise, and want to say that we fully intend to offer you further bargain shopping opportunities in the future.” Do you forgive and forget about those $1 no-boutins? The fashion world went crazy last week after seeing Lady Gaga carrying a marker-customized Hermès Birkin. Artist Terence Koh has released images of himself drawing more Japanese characters on the coveted handbag, so that it’s now entirely covered. Do we smell a cry for collaboration? [Fashionista]

We have celebs to thank for the return of shapewear; Oprah, Gwyneth Paltrow and  Jessica Alba have chatted about their underpinnings and Lady Gaga is just plain wearing corsetry as clothes. All this, ahem, exposure has apparently sparked 10.6% rise in sales since March 2009. [WWD]
