Fashion Art Toronto 2023 brought the style

Toronto’s longest running fashion week returned from Thursday, November 16 to Sunday, November 19 and the fashion was nothing short of delightful. Fashion Art Toronto 2023 featured runway shows from 40 designers including Mr. Haque’s much-anticipated Spring 2024 presentation “Avarice,” style-inspired art installations, a retail boutique, red carpet, immersive experiences and more. Check out FASHION’s highlights of the fab guest style below:

Meet Noir, the latest leather creation by Portuguese accessories brand, Ownever. Inspired by Noir genre films, “where the main character confronts a dystopian world while seeking their identity,” the limited-edition bag is crafted from repurposed luxury leather and “is a tribute to the contrast between shadows and light.”

A sustainable purse that balances its structured shape with a lightweight touch? Sounds chic to us.

Coming soon: Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week

After three successful years, Vancouver Indigenous Fashion Week is back and bigger than ever. The week-long event will feature collections from 32 Indigenous designers from across Turtle Island and end with a Supernatural Kiki Ball. If you make it out to opening night, be sure to wear red in honour of the missing and murdered members of the Indigenous community.

Toronto dress rental haven The Fitzroy is moving

“This boutique is too big,” said no one ever. Good thing too because as of November 19, The Fitzroy, Canada’s premier dress rental service, is moving to a stunning 9,000-square-foot headquarters. Triple the size, the new address is just down the street from the original Toronto location and features wall-to-wall racks of thousands of designer rentals. With holiday party season ramping up, you’ll want to make your appointment ASAP.
