Edmonton: Zeroing in on your fashion identity

Although Identity Clothing (14263-23 Ave., 780-439-9043, identity-clothing.com) first opened its doors six years ago, I only stumbled on it after a recent trip to a nearby salon. I thought my newly shorn locks deserved a little something and the shop did not disappoint. Owner Kelly Noland has stocked his boutique with Hugo Boss, cooler-than-thou denim from William Rast and Joe’s Jeans, contemporary lines like Sand and Pringle of Scotland, as well as formal eveningwear.

And if that isn’t enough to send you to shopping nirvana, there’s a scaled down version of Lord’s Shoes, one of Edmonton’s oldest shoe stores, within the shop – Noland’s mother owns the original Lord’s in Southgate Centre (780-436-3966, lordsshoes.ca). I know I always like to complete all my shopping experiences with a wicked pair of heels and here I can pick up BCBG Girl, L.A.M.B. and Hugo Boss.

Just to keep it in the family, if your summer plans include a trip out west, be sure to check out Lord’s Shoes in Vancouver (2932 South Granville St., 604-730-2914), which is run by Noland’s sister, Jacqueline. In addition to gorgeous designer footwear, you’ll find an impressive array of clothing by Sarah Pacini and outerwear by one of my favorite Canadian labels, Mackage. The Vancouver outpost also carries jewellery.
