Sunday morning. The  sun is streaming into the Villa Necchi Campiglio and I’ve just been handed a perfect cappuccino out by the perfect poolside garden and I allow myself a rare, blissful moment to dream that I’m home…. But alas, someone pinch me: I’m at Tod’s spring presentation, held at the location of Tilda Swinton’s disfunctional family home in the film I Am Love.

The classic Milanese villa is the ideal location to view the sumptuous leather bags, crafted in natural, nude shades in the softest leather imaginable (like budda!) and tables laden with the most delicious Crayola box assortment of moccasins and ballet flats in skins like suede, croc and patent.

Bright and early, the usual devotees were out in droves and dressed in their Sunday best for the church of Marni. And a marvelous madcap religous experience it was. Consuelo Castiglioni mixed sport utility, scuba-inspired cycle shorts and legggings with ruffles, colour blocking, acid-trip florals and graphic prints and threw in a healthy dose of perforated leather, colour-coated sequins and aviator helmets for good measure! Hallelujah!
