Dare to wear Lily + Jae

Like most female Vancouverites, I struggle with seasonal transitions in the wardrobe department–especially the change from spring to summer.  After searching for sensible investments during the recession (do I really need those BCBG stilettos?), I found a clothing line to quench my thirst for practicality, versatility and fun–Lily + Jae (lilyandjae.com).  Started in 2006 by Jude Feller, this independently owned Vancouver company has their wares in a host of local boutiques, including Plenty, Riot, Hot Box and The Block.  Tailored trench coats, floral prints and summer skirts are all trademarks of the brand’s fresh style. My pick for this season?  The Dare dress (shown, $147), perfect for traversing Kits Beach, seeing a concert at the Commodore or eating Sunday brunch.  Pick one up at Gastown’s The Block (350 W. Cordova St., 604-685-8885, theblock.ca).
