Last Friday, we got down (and by that, we mean sat in the same room) with the legend that is Christian Louboutin. With arguably the most rhymed-about named in footwear, Louboutin built his red soled empire from the ground up to where it is now: worth $85 million. Like any designer worth his salt, Louboutin bears no resemblance to a business man when you meet him IRL. Instead, he’s a quirky Frenchman who can as easily wax poetic about seeing his shoes in a retrospective exhibit at Toronto’s Design Exchange as he can about eating fast food. Before the designer met with hundreds of fans at Holt Renfrew’s (he signed shoes for over 4 hours!), we chatted for a way less amount of time in the comfort of the store’s private shopping suites. Here are just a few of the gems.
