Kicking off awards season, the People’s Choice Awards took place last night celebrating our favourite movies, television shows, actors and actresses, musicians and so forth, with comedic duo, Anna Faris and Allison Janney, holding co-hosting duties for the evening. Aside from the hunky appearances of Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr. and Ben Affleck, as well as stellar musical performances from Iggy Azalea, Fall Out Boy and Lady Antebellum, there’s no question that we were pretty occupied with seeing what the celebs were wearing to the first award season of the year. And since the night was a celebration of our favourites in the entertainment industry, it only seems fitting to do so on the red carpet as well.
As per usual, many celebs went for pretty, sparkly looks (see Sarah Hyland and Olivia Munn), but last night’s standout trend was more about the return of the pantsuit. Bella Thorne kept her LBDs at home and instead suited up for the night in a sleek Giorgio Armani ensemble. Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting showed off her curves in a black and white look, complete with fashion’s It bottoms: culottes. But if we had to pick our fave of the night, it’s definitely a toss up between Ellen Pompeo’s elegant Elie Saab look or Portia de Rossi’s stunning Zuhair Murad jumpsuit.
