Oscars 2015 prompted A-list stars to dress to the nines, be it ball gowns or floor-length glittery ensembles. However, when celebs head to after parties like the hot-ticket Vanity Fair event after the curtains fall and switch into more party-appropriate attire, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t disappointed that we don’t get to see what they wore in the wee hours of the night (why is there no televised after party red carpet?). But fear not---we rounded up 21 of the best Oscar after party looks of the night that weren’t featured on prime time television.

Many of the celebs ditched their ball gowns and swapped for more, uh, mobile outfits for the dance floor (we see you Jennifer Lopez). While Emma Stone swapped her golden Elie Saab dress for a fun and equally sparkly cocktail dress by Altuzarra, Lupita Nyong’o opted for a lighter Calvin Klein option for the evening.

Our Oscar viewing party may have consisted of comfy sweats and pajamas, but that was not the case for Elton John’ s annual AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party. While Miley Cyrus kept things covered up in Schiaraparell, Gigi Hadid and Nina Dobrev both opted for sultry evening gowns that showed off some serious skin.

Although the night may have been a celebration for the talented artists in the film industry, that didn’t stop music’s biggest heavy hitters to join the party. Selena Gomez and Beyoncé both rocked long-sleeved, floor-length dresses at the event, Gomez in Louis Vuitton and Queen Bey in Stella McCartney. But leave it to the much talked about performers Rita Ora and Lady Gaga to really make a statement at the after party in sheer black dresses that really got the photographers’ bulbs flashing.
