Aside from the shorter hemlines, poolside hangouts and patio drinks, summer also promises us the biggest blockbuster movies. And when there are new movies, there are premieres. In other words: red carpet heaven.
Black seemed to be the shade du jour for A-list stars. Our former cover girl Elizabeth Olsen amped up the glam factor with her Dior ball gown during the Avengers: Age of Ultron promo tour in Tokyo, while Sandra Bullock gave off playful vibes via her custom Minion pumps at her premiere. And though we often hit the snooze button on little black dresses, Amanda Seyfried pleasantly shocked us by teaming her Mugler LBD with a side of cornrows at the LA premiere of Ted 2. Let’s just say it was anything but boring.
However, for this season’s most-anticipated movie premiere, Magic Mike: XXL, colour was definitely on the wardrobe agenda. With a hot male cast like this one, you would think the ladies might have been overlooked, but that was definitely not the case. Even among the suited up Channing Tatum, Joe Manganiello and Matt Bomer, the female stars still managed to command everyone’s attention with their standout looks. With Jada Pinkett Smith and Elizabeth Banks opting for lemon hues and Amber Heard looking fab in a purple Monique Lhuillier dress, we say brava ladies.
