The week in celebrity style: See who made our best-dressed list

Today is a toughie. Everyone’s back to the regular Monday routine, slowly coming down from a fun holiday season. While we can’t be with the stars celebrating in balmy Palm Springs or travel back in time to New Year’s Eve in New York, seeing their light ruffled dresses and shimmering outfits might just be enough glam-spiration to get us through the day.

Ringing in 2016 with a bang was Nicki Minaj at Drai’s Nightclub in Las Vegas. A neutral crop top and pencil skirt combo got a dose of late night attitude with hot pink ankle boots and an ankle-grazing fur coat. Times Square got a shot of star power too with Demi Lovato belting it out in thigh-high boots and a barely there beaded bodysuit (she would have been freezing without that fur!) and Carrie Underwood rocking an emerald satin suit. A few days later, Kristen Stewart also suited up in a slouchy white version with sky high Louboutins at IFC’s screening of her new movie Clouds of Sils Maria.

The 27th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards Gala kicked off awards season and gave us our first glimpse of the red carpet in 2016. Brie Larson’s minimalist green Jason Wu dress might give us a clue to the sleek, saturated gowns to come in the months ahead. Cate Blanchett looked radiant in Marc Jacobs’ sky blue gown with gold embroidery, while Alicia Vikander’s 2-piece Erdem pink polka dotted outfit fluttered with every step.
