The week in celebrity style: Lizzie Caplan, Taylor Swift and More

Fall wardrobe inspo may be the last thing on our minds right now, especially with this heat wave. But judging the number of Fall 2016 #ootds we saw on the red carpet this past week, it looks like celebs have had enough of the summer dressing and are ready to tackle fall, one trend at a time.

Exhibit A: Lizzy Caplan. The Masters of Sex actress stood out amongst the sea of seasonal dresses at the 2016 TCA Summer Party in a black and red velvet Roland Mouret dress (right on trend with the velvet, Caplan!). Speaking of black and red, these two shades were the colours of the week. Diane Kruger worked the dark colour palette via an off-the-runway Alexander McQueen look, while Taraji P.Henson looked extra flirty in Emanuel Ungaro. Dakota Johnson also rocked the hues in a more subtle fashion with an off-the-shoulder Proenza Schouler black outfit (the perfect alternative to the classic LBD) and red statement earrings at the special event honour UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
