It’s that time of year again, when Hollywood’s most glamorous actors, directors and film aficionados pack their bags and jet to the French Riviera for the 69th Annual Cannes Film Festival. With back-to-back photocalls, premieres and after-parties stretching over 12 days, you know it’s going be a sartorial feast for our eyes.
You’d think that celebrities would ease their way into red carpet dressing on day one. But for Kristen Stewart and Blake Lively, that’s not their M.O. The co-stars stunned in true Cannes style at the photocall for Café Society, this year’s much-anticipated film. Then, the two leading actresses swapped their daytime looks for gold medal-worthy gowns at the Opening Ceremony Gala. While Stewart stepped out in a Chanel Cruise 2017 look, Lively lived up to her bombshell reputation, courtesy of Versace. Queen of Cannes, anyone?
Kirsten Dunst and Vanessa Paradis are on this year’s jury panel. If previous red carpet appearances are any indication, it’s going to be a pleasure to see what these two have in store for us. Meanwhile, Julia Roberts and Amal Clooney bring back old Hollywood glamour to the Côte d’Azur at the premiere for Money Monster.
But what is Cannes without the appearance of the L’Oréal army walking the famous red steps? While Julianne Moore led the pack in a stunning Givenchy gown at the opening gala, Naomi Watts and Susan Sarandon followed closely behind with an Armani dress and a suit and flats, respectively.
As per usual, we’ll be updating this gallery every day. And with this year’s film festival rumoured to bring the buzziest stars from all over the world, this is one red carpet event you really don’t want to miss.
