The week in celebrity style: See who made our best dressed list

See who made our best dressed list »

As we gear up for the colder months, celebs are turning away from brights and opting for a darker colour pallette. With Halloween fast approaching, we have yet to see any cat ears on the red carpet, but for now we bring you the best in monochromatic shades of black, burgundy and navy, followed with a few pops of white because who says you can’t wear white way past Labour Day.

Earlier this week, Kim Kardashian celebrated her 34th birthday with her usual Las Vegas bash wearing a deep cut white number, joined by hubby Kanye West and the other Keeping Up members. Anne Hathaway sported a new chin-length bob in a midnight blue satin slip dress by Richard Nicoll, while Jessica Chastain stunned in a Givenchy couture dress featuring a deep side lace covered slit and open-back hemline. Celebrating Matthew McConaughey at the American Cinematheque Awards, Kate Hudson donned pink-tinged strands and a blush sequin gown by Jenny Packham.

Meanwhile, bad gal RiRi attended her Rogue Man fragrance launch party at Macy’s wearing a black three piece ensemble by her stylist-turned designer, Adam Selman. Also opting for a darker hue in the strapless dress form was AnnaSophia Robb who wore Kate Emilio and  Jena Malone, who wore an awesome cut-out variation by Reem Acra. Other celebs making our best dressed list include Jaime King, who wore a seriously chic white midi dress by Wes Gordan to the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, as well as Olivia Palermo who wore a fringed jacket over a white gown by Witchery and Ghurka. And finally last, but not least, we loved Sienna Miller’s dark romance-themed Erdem dress she wore while in attendance of the International Medical Corps annual awards dinner ceremony.

While we love a good dark dress on the red carpet during the winter months, we’ve got to hand it to the few celebs who are seriously standing out in head-to-toe white. Who is your favourite of the bunch?
