The week in celebrity style: See who made our top 10 best-dressed list
Fall 2015 dresses may be making their way onto the red carpet, but celebs circulating last week’s bevy of events kept it summer-apropos, for our sake. January Jones wore a colourfully printed Peter Pilotto dress, while Kerry Washington worked a romantic baroque print in a vibrant teal hue.
Broadway’s much-anticipated musical Hamilton drew quite the A-list turnout (think Allison Williams, Laverne Cox, Jon Bon Jovi, Samuel L. Jackson and Diane Sawyer all in the same room). While many of the female attendees wore last week’s fave LWD, Sarah Jessica Parker outshone the rest in a Carrie Bradshaw-worthy couture gown by Elie Saab.
But if we’re talking about the one celeb that got heads turning this week, it’s no other than Meryl Streep who has been topping everyone’s best-dressed list since hiring Miacaela Erlanger (the lady behind Lupita Nyongo’s best-dressed moments). One to play it safe in the wardrobe game, the award-winning actress totally caught us off guard in looks straying from her norm. After attending the New York premiere of Ricki and the Flash in a black and white Valentino dress, Streep appeared on the The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in a black Balmain jumpsuit. That’s right, Balmain jumpsuit. Two words we never thought to hear in the same sentence with Meryl Streep, but hey, she’s Meryl-freakin’ Streep. She can pull off anything.
