Multiple bright green red carpet moments this week have inspired us to step out clad in the bold colour. At Tuesday night’s New York Film Critics Circle Awards Gala, Lupita Nyong’o (who won best actress of 2019 for her role in Us) wowed in a simple-yet-elegant bright green dress finished with accordion pleats from Valentino’s Spring 2020 collection. Earlier this week, Charlize Theron, who was in the running to win a Golden Globe for her performance in Bombshell, attended the Globes in a standout Dior number in the same hue. And just last night, Rachel Brosnahan, from The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, took to the Jimmy Kimmel Live stage wearing a fitted midi dress in, you guessed it, bright green.

While it’s easy to appreciate the look on someone else, rocking such a bold hue can be intimidating — especially if your wardrobe is packed with monochrome pieces. But if you’re looking to give this of-the-moment trend a try, here’s how to dip your toe in: pick simple silhouettes, try a matching set, or pair a piece with black or white basics to pare down the impact. If you’re not colour averse and are ready to jump right in, we suggest working the colour into a *look* with other cool neons and wild patterns.

No matter which side of the fence you fall on, we’ve rounded up 16 pieces to help get you started:
