Bottega Veneta Has Opened Their First Canadian Flagship Store

Earlier this year Bottega Veneta opened a flagship in New York City–the colossal five story structure took up an entire half-block of Madison Avenue. The New York Times reported it as “luxury that is not a neon billboard” or “a wink to those in the know.” But despite the store’s obvious grandeur, the space still managed to evoke a certain subtleness.

This is the same sort of feeling that the new Toronto flagship evokes, an understated luxury that seems paired back and sumptuous all at once. (Something especially evident when compared to the spaces of a few luxury competitors, whose indulgent boutiques clearly embody their lavish reputations.)

Located in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre, the 3,035 square foot space carries the same elegance as its New York counterpart, while also maintaining a similar air of majesty. For example, the new store houses a two story-facade which features a stunning grand-scale version of Bottega Veneta’s beloved intrecciato weave.

Everything in the interior is custom made–no surprise, given Bottega Veneta’s reputation for unwavering attention to craftsmanship. Oak tables sit atop custom-dyed wool carpets and the walls are covered in soft suedes and structural Marmorino plaster. The colour palette is evocative: soothing soft greys and light brown fabrics juxtaposed against American oak and bronze-tinted glass.

Within the Canadian flagship, the Italian brand will offer a comprehensive selection of products including ready-to-wear, handbags, luggage, small leather goods, shoes, fashion jewelry, fragrances and eyewear for both men and women.
